A tasty, health, nutrition-filled drink every morning keeps your child healthy!

Every parent is on the lookout for food items that meet their little one’s nutritional requirements. However, the child-like notoriety is very hellbent on the taste factor. Healthy drinks are quite tricky to instil as a part of your kid’s daily diet. This realisation has led to numerous health drinks for kids that offer a blend of taste and nutrition through a variety of flavours.

Health Drink Types

The term ‘health drink’ includes juices, smoothies, dairy-based milk and plant-based milk, among others. All these healthy drinks for kids are a powerhouse of essential nutrients. Juices are a tasty and nutritious by-product of the fruit(s) extracts, and theoretically, are the liquid version of the fruit.  Smoothies and shakes are luxurious beverages that predominantly reside in the urban cosmos. Go to any top-of-the-line branded cafe, and you will see a list of these thick and creamy drinks awaiting your company.  A perfect fusion of taste and nutrition, smoothies and shakes can be made at home and are the new-age kids drinking milk. Milk forms a large part of the morning ritual and comes in two broad categories - dairy-based and plant-based. While dairy-based milk comes from animals such as goats and cows, plant-based milk comes from nuts, seeds, and plants.

If you have arrived here, you have a gist of the various health drinks that are available today. So, which then, is the best health drink for kids?

Unravelling the larger scheme of things

In recent times, people globally have become more conscious and aware of their wellbeing. One such example is veganism - a practice that refrains from animal exploitation and cruelty. Veganism stems from a dual reality and tackles both health and religious sentiments. Another aspect concerning wellbeing is that of tackling allergies and intolerances - such as lactose intolerance. These concerns gave rise to plant-based milk - an alternative to dairy milk. So, is plant-based milk then the best health drink for kids?

Within this category of plant-based milk, there are various options - Soy milk, Almond milk, Coconut milk, Rice milk and others. However, some of these kids drinking milk contain sugar and added sweeteners. Therefore, the best healthy drinks for kids would be the ones having the least sugar and sweeteners.

Soy milk and Almond milk have received immense praise for their health benefits. But, they sacrifice on taste, and to inculcate the habit of drinking soy milk in kids can be done by, say, pouring a few drops of some chocolate syrup (probably from Hershey’s) into soy milk.
